Mark’s Dedication: A Lifelong Commitment to Plasma Donation 

Mark van der Vlugt, a senior process operator in the formulation department at Prothya, is a remarkable individual whose compassion knows no bounds. Since joining the company in 2002, he has not only dedicated himself to his work but has also taken it upon himself to make a profound difference in the lives of others through blood and plasma donation. In this interview, Mark shares his personal journey, highlighting the importance of his contributions and urging others to join him in this noble cause. 

A Journey of Giving

Mark's journey into plasma donation began with a single blood donation. However, it was the realization of the critical need for plasma that motivated him to transition into plasma donation. In 2018, he made the decision to start giving plasma, and since then, he has generously donated almost 80 times. Mark's commitment to this cause is truly admirable and serves as an inspiration to those around him. 

Consistency and Adaptability

When asked about the frequency of his donations, Mark reveals that before the pandemic and running marathons, he would donate plasma every two weeks. However, due to the circumstances, he temporarily halted his donations during those times. Presently, he has resumed his regular schedule of donating once every two weeks, showcasing his unwavering dedication and adaptability.

As a process operator in the formulation department, he is directly involved in producing the medicines that rely on these vital components. Understanding that his contributions directly impact the lives of patients who are in need of these life-saving or – enhancing products, serves as a powerful motivator for Mark.
